The Red Lotus School Mission and Values

Preschool is a sacred part of every child’s life. Young children are actively developing their will to work, learn, and cooperate with others. At The Red Lotus School, we strive to instill values of compassion and a love for learning upon every child that comes into our care. We use a mixture of Montessori philosophy and The Nurtured Heart Approach to foster your child’s academic abilities and their journey to developing strong and confident character within themselves.

Our primary program includes academic curricula with a special focus on social emotional learning, cooperation, self regulation, and practical life skills. By the end of your child’s time at The Red Lotus School, they’ll leave with dispositions of kindness, responsibility, and leadership.

When Maria Montessori opened the first Montessori school in 1907, her mission was to provide care and education for children of underprivileged and working-class families. Their education was typically funded through state governments or paid for by real-estate owners who wanted to serve their tenants with young children. Times have changed quite a bit since 1907, and Montessori education seems more inaccessible than ever.

“I value every child’s right to a quality education and I’m actively working towards making Montessori education more accessible to the average working class family. To attain this goal, The Red Lotus School offers some of the lowest tuition rates in the area.”

(School Owner, Director, Lead Teacher)

I’m the proud owner and director,, and lead teacher at The Red Lotus School. I was born and raised in Northern California and have been working as an early educator for 5 years and counting. I’ve worn many hats in my career including teacher, mentor, director, coach, and intern. I received wonderful training and mentorship through my time studying at the Montessori Teacher Education Center in San Leandro, California, and through my time as a teacher and diversity coordinator at The Meher Schools in Lafayette, California.

I’m so lucky to have helped so many children and families in my career thus far, and I look forward to continue to support the children and families of King County!

Aside from working with children, I love spending time with my friends and family, snuggling with my husky Eevee, and going for walks.
