The Red Lotus School
A place where young children grow in love, compassion, and care.
About The Red Lotus School
We’re an authentic Montessori school that offers quality full time and part time preschool and kindergarten programs in the Puget Sound area. Our mission is to not only foster your child’s academic abilities, but instill values that they will carry for a lifetime. With a focus on social emotional learning, we give every child the tools to develop empathy and social awareness skills.
We believe that the child’s connection with their teacher is the foundation to a child’s academic and social emotional success at school. At Nurtured Heart Montessori, we use the Nurtured Heart Approach (NHA) to guide children into being confident, well-rounded individuals. The NHA focuses on recognizing children’s strengths and empowering them to succeed through positive relationships with teachers.
The mix of Montessori Philosophy and the Nurtured Heart Approach, allow for comprehensive development of the whole child.

Montessori Kindergarten
The Montessori early childhood program is intended to be a 3 year program beginning around age 2.5-3 years old and goes up through the child’s kindergarten year. During the first two years of the early childhood program, children learn the foundations of grace and courtesy skills and are introduced to the various Montessori curriculum materials. The child’s third year (kindergarten) in the Montessori classroom is especially important. Third year students serve as leaders in the classroom while having the opportunity to expand on their existing knowledge of math, language, and culture topics, developing a deeper understanding of the world around them.
